Music Business, Twitter, Almost Famous

The big word of the day at the Almost Famous Showcase in Atlanta was BOB and Twitter. Twitter is micro or mini-blogging. You may do it either from your cell phone or the web. In either case most people don't get it when they first get on, but after hearing about Twitter from a few sources you begin to get the hint that it's time to jump on the train before it's to late.

Rovella, Founder, Almost Famous made personalized tags for her Music Business Twitter Group. The host of the show and TJ Chapman mentioned Twitter several times while on stage. People were walking about the club not handing out business cards so much, but exchanging Tweets letting others know they were missing the high level communication (networking) taking place. DJ Aaries, Isis Wisdom-Word on the Streets Mag and DJ Scorpio-Master Mind Music included JaWar in a Tweet they sent from Sugar Hill Atlanta.

By now you should get the not so obvious hint that you need to be on Twitter as it's a great way to network with music business professionals, publicist, pr companies, mainstream and independent media, taste makers and other thought leaders. Twitter is growing at an alarming rate and soon it too will be commercialized in a way that any business must do to survive, but for now it's still a bit of a hidden gem.

Who else was walking about Almost Famous talking and tweeting -DJ Judge Mental, Kim Wilson & KimbelyJo, Laura -StarLitPR, DJ Magestic, Haziq (who opened for BOB), Corey Webb and a host of other Atlanta Notables.
