Music Business Help Me Please

A young many contacted me through myspace and asked if I could help him out. I asked what did he have in mind. He said he wanted to ask me a few questions. My reply was what is your budget (how much money do you have)? He said he wanted to know if I could consult him now for payment at some later date. I replied that while it seemed doable, when I go to the gas station I'm always reminded to pay before I pump; likewise when I go to the grocery store I'm always asked to pay before leaving the store with food.

There's another alternative I told the young man. If I were to pay for the gas and fuel on my credit card then I could finance my purchases without having to pay cash on the same day. I told the young many I could email him a Paypal Request and he could pay for consulting services using his credit card today and everyone would get what they needed out of the business arrangement. I never heard from the young man again. -go figure

The music business is a business of selling dreams. It doesn't have to be this way, but most recording artists believe that if someone would just listen to their music they would hear their talent and want to help them achieve riches, fame and fortune. The reality is that the music industry is a business that requires some form of financial investment. If you're not willing to save and invest your own money don't expect anyone else to do it for you.
